NHS health agencies and other organisations have contracted Healthmaps UK to develop and implement bespoke intranet/internet applications.

Each Healthmap system can be adapted to meet particular customer requirements, and enables novice users to interrogate existing data sets and plot results to a high definition, scaleable area map. The simple user interface allows all staff to make best use of powerful information resources, and reduces the need for extensive re-training and use of complex applications.

Specific benefits of the system include:

• A seamless interface to interrogate existing database facilities.
• Selected results can be flexible, in terms of data volume and detail.
• Individual or multiple records can be selected and displayed as points on a local area map with 'zoom and centre' facility.
• Data points displayed are uniquely colour coded, numbered and referenced to the appropriate data record list via a scrollable frame.
• Fixed data points e.g. Parish/PCT boundaries, Hospitals School sites etc., can be provided as selectable overlays and superimposed on the map base.
• Multiple overlays can be selected and displayed as required.
• The client, via existing login procedure, controls user access and security.
